Built for the 2003 South Pacific Games, the Damodar City Aquatic Centre underwent extensive refurbishment works from April 2022 to October 2023. The project was possible through funding assistance from the government of the People’s Republic of China.

The Damodar family have, since 2003, invested in the naming rights of the sports facility and we are proud of this association. The facility is ideally located within our Laucala sports complex, accessible to athletes wanting to incorporate gym and track work with pool recovery. The Damodar City Aquatic Centre has hosted a number of events including the 2003 Pacific Games, national swimming carnivals, long and short course events, Oceania Championships, school competitions, corporate product launches, and corporate fun days.

The pool is manned by experienced staff, who are water safety and first aid trained as well as qualified swimming instructors.

Facility Rules

1. Patrons must shower first before entering the pool.
2. Swimmers with medium to long hair must wear swim cap.
3. Anyone entering the pool must wear appropriate attire.
4. Clothing such as jeans, shirts, leotards, and casual wear is prohibited in the pool.
5. Running, running bombs or unruly behaviour is prohibited.
6. Abusive, disruptive or offensive behaviour is not permitted.
7. Patrons are not permitted to bring in glass objects into the Centre.
8. Patrons with skin infections will not be permitted into the pool.
9. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted into the Centre,
10. Children under the age of 10 years must be closely supervised (within arms- length) by a parent or guardian above the age of 18 years. Failure to do so will result in you being asked to leave the Facility.
11. In the interest of hygiene for all patrons, spitting is not allowed in the Centre.
12. Fiji Sports Council accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen property.
