The National Stadium was first constructed in 1978 for the 6th South Pacific Games, redeveloped in 2012, and officially reopened in 2013. Under previous naming rights, the National Stadium was first called TFL Stadium, then ANZ Stadium, until 2022 when HFC Bank took over the naming rights with a title change effective in July of the same year to HFC Bank Stadium.
The Stadium features a synthetic track, which is currently being overhauled and a new track system to be installed and operational by early 2024.
Other features include a grandstand and concrete and grass embankment with a combined capacity 15,000, and a World Rugby and FIFA-approved sized pitch.
The HFC Bank Stadium has hosted many national, regional, and international sporting events such as the South Pacific Games of 1979 and 2003, Super Rugby matches that included Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s first ever home game, Skipper Cup semis and finals, Oceania Football Federation U17 Championship, athletics Coca-Cola Games, Oceania Football Champions League and FIFA U19 World Cup qualifiers, Pacific Nations Cup, World Rugby Pacific Challenge,
Classic All Blacks Test, Fiji Bati trials, Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, World Rugby Pacific Challenge, Vodafone Deans and Weet-Bix Raluve finals.
