The National Hockey Centre was built for the 2003 South Pacific Games, and like the Damodar City Aquatic Centre, underwent extensive refurbishment works from April 2022 to October 2023. The project was possible through funding assistance from the government of the People’s Republic of China.
Events hosted include the 2003 South Pacific Games, Fiji Hockey’s Oceania Pacific Cup, IFH World Series Qualifiers, overseas hockey tours, business house competitions, national championships, futsal, host rest area for international rugby events.

Facility Rules
- Admission to the National Hockey Centre is at the discretion of the Fiji Sports Council. Non-compliance of rules and regulations will result in refusal or revocation of admission.
- All patrons and athletes must adhere to the instructions issued by facility staff and security personnel at all times.
- Smoking and spitting are strictly prohibited within the National Hockey Centre.
- The Fiji Sports Council will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Please secure your belongings at all times.
- Unauthorized solicitation, distribution of materials, or commercial activities are not allowed within the premises.
- Fiji Sports Council accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained during hourly bookings, competitions, or events. It is mandatory for patrons/teams to be equipped with First Aid essentials for hourly bookings, competitions, or events.
- Respect for all individuals, including athletes, officials, and other patrons is mandatory. Abusive or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. Offenders will be immediately removed from the premises.
- Please use the designated areas for standing, sitting, and viewing games. Do not obstruct pathways, emergency exists, or fire equipment.
- Any form of violence will result in immediate eviction and possible legal action.
- Pets are not allowed within the National Hockey Centre, with the exception of service animals.
- Proper attire (sporting apparel) and footwear (closed shoes) must be worn at all times on the turf.
- Face masks must be worn when required by local health guidelines.
- All patrons must adhere to the Fiji Sports Council’s health and safety protocols when required, which may include temperature checks and hand sanitization.
- Possession, sale, or consumption of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Violators will be immediately removed from the premises and reported to local authorities.
- Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited. Patrons under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted in the centre.
- Photography, video, and audio recording for personal use is generally allowed, but any commercial or professional use requires prior written consent from the Fiji Sports Council.
- Flash photography and the use of drones are not allowed for safety and privacy reasons.
- Any damage(s) to National Hockey Centre property, equipment, or facility will result in financial obligation and potential legal action.
- Unauthorized access to restricted areas is prohibited. Offenders will be immediately removed from the premises and may face possible legal action.
- In the event of an emergency, please follow instructions from staff and emergency personnel. Know the location of emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and First Ais stations.
